About Me

Hi! I'm Andrew, an Aussie photographer, dad, and nerd.

One day back in 2009 - halfway through studying an engineering degree - I picked up a camera and never looked back. Since then I've worn many creative hats. Not only as a professional photographer, but more recently as a video editor, motion designer, videographer and team lead in a production agency.

Whatever else I've been up to, I never stopped shooting weddings. It's an incredible privilege to photograph an event where everybody dresses to the nines, lets their hair down and wears their heart on their sleeve. Where the delivered work isn't just posted online and forgotten in a week, but becomes an integral part of a family's lifelong memories.

With over 150 weddings shot across 15 years and 7 countries, I've seen it all. While never taking the experience for granted, I stay calm and positive in any situation you could imagine at your wedding day. And most of all, I'll be having fun!

I believe the role of a wedding photographer has changed.

When I first started out, I was the only one at a wedding with the gear (and memory-card space) to capture quality images of every important thing that happened. Almost like an archaeologist; of course artistic images were appreciated, but the main goal was to gather evidence of the dress, the kiss, the cake-cutting, the dance and so on.

Now, every guest has a smartphone in their pocket capable of taking unlimited pin-sharp digital photos at any time. Since my advantage of pure capability is gone, I feel that I must offer a service with a unique point of view. Something that elevates the memories of the day, rather than simply archiving them.

That's why in 2023 I made the decision to shoot weddings on analog film. Images shot on film have subtle tones and small imperfections that mirror the way we store memories in our own minds. They are also, by nature, designed to be printed and enjoyed as a physical experience.

Physical experiences have become my creative passion.

In an increasingly digital world, real-life interactions with people and objects have slowly become more rare and more special, and I find it important to preserve them.

Each of my deliveries now include hand-crafted albums that you'll want to actually pull from your shelf to relive your wedding day with family, friends, or just each other.

In shooting analog film, I also force my own creative process to require more physical preparation and handcraft. With less time fiddling on the computer, I've brought back joy to several parts of the photography workflow that I'd found tiresome on digital.

I stake my livelihood and reputation on doing a great job, no matter what.

The engineering studies I mentioned earlier? Despite having already kickstarted my photography career, I still powered through and got the degree. While I never became an engineer by trade, that degree qualified me for my first working visa in Denmark and forged the path to where I am today.

When I commit to something, I give it my all and see it through to the end without taking shortcuts. I have never once regretted it.

For your wedding, I'll do the absolute best I can to make your photos - and the way you interact with them long into the future - an incredible experience.
