Mentoring

Personalised mentorship that helps elevate your analog approach.

Are you passionate about film photography but want to shoot with more confidence and consistency?

I offer two-hour mentoring sessions for fellow professionals, specialising in the film photography process and mastering the transition from digital to film.

I’ve been wanting to shoot exclusively on film for a while now but never felt ready or confident enough. Speaking with Andrew gave me more confidence to trust that I can shoot with film and do it well.

How does it work?

1. You send your work ahead

You fill out an intake form with your current portfolio, the issues you are having, where the gaps are, and what you want the session to focus on.

2. I prepare the session

I read everything you send and build a session specifically for you, rather than working through a fixed program.

3. Two hours together

We spend two hours working through your session, with enough room for questions and conversation.

4. You keep the material

Afterwards you get the deck with notes on everything discussed, plus a cheat sheet on film stocks, labs and the techniques we covered.

Mentoring questions

No. The sessions are designed for photographers already at an enthusiast or professional level who want to elevate their film photography specifically.

Yes! As long as you know the ins and outs of digital photography, the session can help you get started. It’s possible to book extra sessions to help reach the level of shooting film professionally.

Nope, I’m happy to offer sessions to experienced photographers who want to shoot film in any genre.

No. My focus is specifically the technique, process and approach of film photography.

Absolutely! I’d love to get into the nitty gritty of what you are actually struggling with. Topics I’ve covered before: flash photography with film, pushing and pulling film, editing film scans, and choosing the right lab.

Not currently. If you want something outside the two-hour format, get in touch and we can discuss it.
